
Mirjana Brković has managed the University of Novi Sad Central Library, since 2004. From 1990 until 2004 Mirjana worked at the Matica Srpska Library as a librarian for Serbian old and rare books. Mirjana is engaged in publishing book catalogs, personal bibliographies, book reviews, and studies in cultural and literary history.
As a librarian, she is active in the areas of cataloging and book description, legal matters in librarianship, digitization of library material, etc. As a head of the University of Novi Sad, she has organized several educational events, workshops, and meetings for librarians.
Over the years, Mirjana Brković has mentored a dozen librarians working in the Central Library. She has engaged in the development of a library software BISIS and Digital Library for the Doctoral Dissertations Defended at the University of Novi Sad. She is engaged in the European Project named Building the Capacity of Educators & Librarians in Information Literacy – EDUCABILITY, as the University of Novi Sad Team leader.
Mirjana has created or expanded procedures regarding ETDs (templates; electronic forms and workflow; copyright, protection of intellectual property, etc.). Over the years, Mirjana has been a member of different professional and other associations (Serbian Library Association; Society for Popularization of Science, Novi Sad Branch; Serbian Society for the 18th Century Literature; Republic of Serbia Ministry of Culture Working Group for preparing the Rule Book for Digitalization of Library-Information Materials and Sources), and gained several rewards for her engagement in librarianship.
