Janette Wright joined Federation University Australia in December 2021 after a period as Dean of Libraries at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) in Abu Dhabi where she chaired the Conference Committee for hosting ETD2020 Virtual and established the Conference Committee for the ETD2021.
At Federation they are developing a cooperative education model for enhanced work-integrated learning and industry focused research. The University has an institutional repository for electronic theses and they are seeking to more fully integrate the library and research systems and platforms to enhance scholarly communication.
At UAEU in 2017 the University recognized the work of the Library team in establishing the Scholarworks@UAEU institutional repository on the Digital Commons platform with the Chancellor’s Award for Institutional Excellence.
In Janette’s previous roles in the library and publishing industry, she has worked to achieve better access to library services for people with disability and in remote locations; to support collaboration between libraries and to promote the benefit of libraries to the causes of community development, learning and scholarship.
