
Josiline Chigwada is the University Librarian at the Chinhoyi University of Technology with 18 years of experience in academic librarianship. She holds an Information Science doctorate from UNISA and a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education. She is an open science advocate in Zimbabwe and the African Reproducibility Network (AREN) Local Network Lead.
Josiline is a passionate and well-equipped champion for supporting the adoption of open and reproducible research principles in Zimbabwe and beyond. Josiline is a member of the SPARC Africa management committee, Zimbabwe Library Association (ZIMLA), Library and Information Association of South Africa (LIASA), Zimbabwe Young Academy of Science, Zimbabwe Rural Schools Library Initiative (ZRSLI), Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T), International Association of Social Science Information Service and Technology (IASSIST), and the Rotary Club of Msasa, Harare.
Josiline has authored on open science, research data management, indigenous knowledge, information and digital literacy, academic librarianship, and contemporary library and information science issues. She is an editorial board member of the IFLA Journal, Journal of Web Librarianship, an advisory board member of the Open Book Futures Project, and the Datacite ambassador for Zimbabwe. She is also the open-access coordinator for the Zimbabwe University Libraries Consortium (ZULC).
