William A. “Bill” Ingram is Assistant Dean & Director of IT for University Libraries at Virginia Tech. Ingram received an M.S. in Library and Information Science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2008. Since then, he has been involved in research and service development related to big-data text analysis and scholarly text mining. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science (with dissertation focused on ETDs) and is an active member of the Digital Library Research Laboratory at Virginia Tech.
In 2019 he was awarded an IMLS National Leadership Grants research grant, with co-PIs Dr. Edward A. Fox (founder and Chairman of the Board for NDLTD) and Dr. Jian Wu at Old Dominion University, to study the application of computational methods and resources to large corpora of ETDs in order to increase access, use, and reuse of this rich body of graduate research and scholarship.
