Lou Haines has retired as the Manager of Graduate Student Services at Miami University with a graduate student population of approximately 3,000 students. Prior to coming to Miami in 2006, Lou was a legal assistant for a large Ohio law firm for 35 years. Lou was also the Director of Electronic Thesis and Dissertation Services at Miami, and oversaw the management of each thesis or dissertation that was written and published by their students. She was on the Board of Directors for the USETDA (United States Electronic Thesis and Dissertation Association) and was essential in promoting the 3MT® (Three Minute Thesis®) in Ohio and nationwide.
